Rabbi Caruso just began his 18thyear at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple. Justice plays an integral part of his rabbinate. He is a co-founder of Greater Cleveland Congregations (GCC), a coalition of over 40 varied communities of faith across Northeast Ohio committed to building power to affect sustainable change in the areas of healthcare, criminal justice and public education—becoming a powerful citizens’ voice in the Northeast Ohio region.

He balances his justice work by seeking to build strong relationships with the temple-community, sustainaing a deep engagement in temple life and feeling gratitude to be entrusted with the sacred stories of those he serves. A native New Yorker, Rabbi Caruso eventually discovered that he was born with a Midwestern soul, and is privileged to share this Cleveland life’s journey with his wife Leah, and their children Lev Aryeh, Asher, and Shayna.
